Denis MERCIER
Denis MERCIER is Professor of Physical Geography at the University of Nantes, France, and Head of the Laboratory LETG-Nantes-Géolittomer (UMR 6554 CNRS). He is junior member of the “Institut Universitaire de France” (IUF). His principal subject of research is paraglacial geomorphology in Iceland and Svalbard. Other explored issues include natural hazard and risks (marine fllooding on the French atlantic coast and cliff erosion in Morocco). He serves as the Secretary of the « Groupe français de Géomorphologie »
His recent publications include ‘Géomorphologie de la France’ (Dunod, 2013), ‘La géomorphologie paraglaciaire’ (Editions Universitaires Européennes, 2011), and numerous papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including The Holocene, Geomorphology, Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, Geografiska Annaler, Géomorphologie : relief, processus, environnement and Quaternaire.
