The present work is a geomorphological study of the region of Japaratinga, situated on the northern coast of the State of Alagoas, northeastern Brazil. The area located within the Sergipe-Alagoas sedimentary basin; which constitutes a strip of sedimentary terrain that occurs along the coast of the States of Alagoas and Sergipe. The outcropping area of the basin is 13.000 km2 and its submerse area comprises 20.000 km2. The result of the investigation was the drawing of a semi detailed geomorphological map at 1: 50.000. Remote sensing and cartographic data were analyzed and processed by the GIS software SPRING.
