Working Groups of the International Association of Geomorphologists
Date: 7 April 2001


The International Association of Geomorphologists has limited resources to support research activities financially. However, it identifies priority areas of geomorphological research and establishes short-term working groups for each inter-conference period. Everyone, whether an individual geomorphologist, a group, or a national organisation affiliated to the IAG, is welcome to propose a working group for the period 2001-2005. Proposals will be discussed at the Council Meeting to be held at the V International Conference on Geomorphology in Tokyo, 23-28 August 2001. The Council will determine the final number of working groups and the level of financial support. At present, the number of four is considered adequate.

Proposals of working groups are to be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the IAG, prior to the Council Meeting which is to be held on 25 August 2001.
