IAG Grants for the Regional Conference on Geomorphology Mexico City, 27 October - 2 November 2003 |

The International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG) and the Mexican Society of Geomorphology (MSG) are pleased to announce the results of the grant application contest to participate in the next IAG Regional Geomorphology Conference, which will take place from 27 October to 2 November 2003 in Mexico City. Nineteen applications were received from young and very talented geomorphologists from Latin America, and other countries. After careful evaluation of such applications, 3 full grants were awarded to young geomorphologists from Latin America, by the International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG), whereas 1 full grant and 4 partial grants were offered to young geomorphologists from different parts of the world by the Mexican Society of Geomorphology (MSG). In alphabetical order, the awards are as follows:
IAG GRANTS
The amount of each IAG grant is of 1000 euros, which are intended to fully cover travel and accommodation expenses. In addition, no Registration fee for the Conference is required.MSG GRANTS
- Samia Aquino, State University of Maringa, Brazil.
- Kenia Costa, Federal University of Goiás, Brazil.
- André de Souza Avelar, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
MGS offers 1 grant of of 1000 euros, which is intended to fully cover travel and accommodation expenses, and 4 grants of 500 euros, which are intended to partially cover travel and accommodation expenses. In addition, no Registration fee for the Conference is required.In addition, registration fee was waved by the MSG for the following young participants:
- Stella Moreiras, CONICET, Argentine (1000 euros).
- Lisa Borgatti, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy (500 euros).
- Dorina Illies, University of Oradea, Romania (500 euros).
- Laura Perucca, CONICET, Argentine (500 euros).
- Silvio Carlos Rodrigues, Federal University of Uberlandia, Brazil (500 euros).
