2. Forthcoming IAG conferences
- 6th International Conference on Geomorphology in 2005
acceptance of invitation from the Spanish Society of Geomorphology conference will be held in Zaragoza, September 7-11, 2005 local organiser: Prof. Mateo Gutierrez-Elorza (Universidad de Zaragoza)
- Regional Conference on Geomorphology in 2003
acceptance of invitation from the Mexican Society of Geomorphology conference will be held in Mexico City, October 6-11, 2003 local organiser: Dr Irasema Alcantara-Ayala (National Autonomous University of Mexico)
(The term of conference was changed in January 2002; the new term is October 27th - November 2nd, 2003)
3. Constitutional changes
The required majority of the Council (2/3) accepted
the proposal to revise the IAG Constitution. The
revised Constitution will be sent to all National
Scientific Members shortly to check for accuracy and
then to the International Council for Science for
approval.
4. Working Groups of the IAG
The Council accepted four proposals to establish working groups within IAG for years 2001-2005:
- Bedrock River Channels: Process and Form - Chair: Paul A. Carling (United Kingdom)
- Interaction Between Aeolian, Fluvial and Lacrustine Processes - Chair: Xiaoping Yang (China)
- Geomorphological Sites: Research, Assessment and Improvement - Chair: Emmanuel Reynard {Switzerland)
- "Terroirs viticoles" - Chair: Alain Marre (France)
