Memorandum of Understanding between

the GEOMORPHOLOGY DIVISION OF THE EUROPEAN GEOSCIENCES UNION
and the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GEOMORPHOLOGISTS

The Geomorphology Division of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) and the International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG / AIG) recognize that a closer relationship between the two organizations can foster international exchange in geomorphological research and learning and promote international opportunities in geomorphology for members of both organizations. To that effect the organizations will promote the following activities:

  • exchange of information on key programs and initiatives;
  • an expansion of membership of both organizations through possible joint programs;
  • an exchange of information and possible joint activities concerning educational opportunities, student programs, and professional services; and
  • an exchange of information and possible co-organization of scientific conferences and workshops.

In recognition of the mutual interests among their members and as a means of furthering the common goals and objectives of both organisations, the collaborations are carried out under the following terms:

  • neither organisation shall have any financial obligation to the other;
  • both organisations will seek collaboration where appropriate;
  • the respective leadership will meet on a regular basis to discuss issues of mutual interest.

The agreement is intended to help further the goals and objectives of both organizations through collaboration and to advance Geomorphology in every aspect.

This agreement may be dissolved by either organization at any time with 30 days notice.
